What happens during your treatment
Fully clinical, fully customised. The protocol is calibrated to support clearer skin and a balanced barrier - combining gentle Circadia enzyme work, an oxygen-based step, radio frequency support, and LED therapy in a sequence designed to layer benefit rather than challenge the skin.
Skin analysis with your dermal clinician. Detailed assessment of inflammation level, congestion pattern, post-acne marks, hormonal markers, current homecare, and any triggers identified at past visits.
Gentle pre-cleanse and cleanse. A two-step gentle cleanse using lipid-respecting professional cleansers that don't strip the skin's natural barrier — because stripping is one of the most common reasons acne gets worse.
Circadia enzyme therapy. A gentle enzymatic exfoliation supports cellular renewal and prepares the skin for the active steps that follow. Calibrated to your skin's tolerance on the day.
Optional, gentle extractions. Where appropriate and tolerated, controlled extractions of comedones and surface blackheads — never aggressive, never on lesions that would require force.
Oxygen Rx treatment. An oxygen-based clinical step that creates a controlled oxygen-rich environment on the skin. Particularly suited to acne-affected and inflamed presentations — supports a clearer skin environment, calms visible redness, and gives an immediately fresher-looking finish. This is one of the most clinically meaningful single steps in the protocol for acne.
Calming infusion. A light calming mist followed by an antioxidant serum to support brightness and the appearance of post-acne marks.
Nourish and massage. A slow, supportive face, neck and shoulder massage. Acne-affected skin is rarely massaged in standard salon facials — at this tier it's a clinical step that supports lymphatic drainage and stress reduction (a meaningful contributor to breakouts).
Radio Frequency (RF) treatment. A gentle, non-invasive radiofrequency step that delivers controlled warmth to the deeper layers of the skin. RF supports the appearance of firmer, clearer skin, supports the skin's natural collagen process, and may help reduce the appearance of enlarged pores often associated with congested skin. Well-tolerated, comfortable, with no downtime.
Treatment finishing mask and LED light therapy. An active finishing mask supports the work of the previous steps. Concurrent LED — red wavelength to support recovery and the appearance of calm, blue wavelength to support a clearer skin environment for acne-affected presentations. We pause blue for clients whose acne overlaps with rosacea.
Eye care and barrier protection. A light eye cream, antioxidant finish, recovery balm and non-comedogenic SPF to send you out into the day with your skin supported, not punished.
What you'll feel
During cleanse: gentle, comfortable, no stinging on active lesions.
During enzyme: a mild warmth from the warm compress, controlled throughout. No burning.
During optional extractions: brief pressure sensation if performed; never sharp pain.
During Oxygen Rx: a gentle, slightly tingly feeling as the controlled oxygen-rich reaction develops on the skin. Most clients describe it as fresh and lifting.
During massage: slow and calming — often the most relaxing part of the session.
During Radio Frequency: a warm, sometimes deeply warming sensation across the treated area. Comfortable for nearly all clients; we adjust the device intensity to your tolerance throughout.
During mask + LED: cool and supportive. Eye protection on you throughout LED.
Immediately after: clearer-looking, calmer skin, with reduced visible inflammation around active lesions and a fresher overall finish.
Days 1–3: most clients see a noticeable improvement in surface clarity. Occasional 'purge' (a temporary flare in the first 1–2 sessions) is possible as deeper congestion clears — this settles.
No downtime — return to your normal day.
How often
Acne-focused work benefits from closer pacing early in the course, extending as skin stabilises. Most clients begin with sessions every 2–3 weeks for the first 4 visits, extending to every 4 weeks as clarity improves. Many clients move into the Skin Correction tier once inflammation is consistently quiet — typically after a foundation course of 4–6 Clarity sessions. Some stay at Clarity long-term for ongoing hormonal cycle support.
Pricing
4 and 8-pack courses are designed for acne-focused clients who typically need a longer foundation course than the standard tier structure. Packages are pre-paid and valid for 12 months.
The science behind it
Why acne responds better to support than to strip
Most over-the-counter acne advice centres on stripping the skin — harsh foaming cleansers, alcohol-based toners, aggressive exfoliants. The clinical reality is that this approach often makes acne worse. Stripping the barrier triggers compensatory oil production, disrupts the skin's microbiome, and creates an environment where breakouts are more likely, not less. The Skin Clarity Ritual works the opposite way — supporting the barrier while gently encouraging cellular turnover and clearing congestion. Clients used to harsh routines are often surprised at how gentle this protocol feels — and at how their skin responds.
Why we include Oxygen Rx as a standard step
The Oxygen Rx step creates a controlled oxygen-rich environment on the surface of the skin. Two things happen at the same time: visible inflammation is calmed (acne-affected skin reads as less red and less reactive immediately after), and the conditions on the skin that favour acne development are gently challenged. Oxygen Rx is one of the most clinically meaningful single steps available for active acne presentations — it's also one of the most pleasant to experience. We've integrated it as standard at the Clarity tier rather than reserving it for higher tiers because clients with active acne benefit from it most.
Why we use Radio Frequency at this tier
Radio Frequency (RF) delivers controlled warmth to the deeper layers of the skin using radiofrequency energy. The clinical effects relevant to acne-affected skin are several: it supports the skin's natural collagen renewal process (important for the longer-term appearance of post-acne textural concerns), supports the appearance of firmer skin and tighter-looking pores, and the controlled warming has a calming effect on visible inflammation. RF is non-invasive, comfortable, and has no downtime — making it appropriate for inclusion in a regular maintenance protocol rather than only as a one-off advanced treatment.
Important note: for clients with very acutely inflamed or pustular presentations, your clinician may adjust the RF intensity or skip the step for that session — the device is always calibrated to what the skin can tolerate on the day.
The role of the Circadia enzyme and finishing mask
The Circadia enzyme step is selected from one of the gentlest options in the professional range, calibrated to your specific presentation. The finishing mask is also Circadia and selected for the day's clinical goal — calming, decongesting, brightening for post-acne marks, or hydrating depending on what the skin needs after the active steps. Your dermal clinician makes these selections on the day, not from a fixed template.
Gentle extractions only — never indiscriminate
Aggressive extractions are a hallmark of bad acne facials. The Skin Clarity Ritual includes gentle, controlled extractions of comedones and surface blackheads where appropriate — and explicitly skips them where they would force a deep lesion or worsen inflammation. Many of our Clarity sessions include no extractions at all. The driving factor in clearer-looking skin isn't extraction — it's the enzyme, the Oxygen Rx, the RF, the mask, the LED and the homecare.
LED — red and blue, applied with judgment
Red LED supports recovery and the appearance of calm. Blue LED supports a clearer skin environment, particularly useful in acne-affected presentations. We use both at this tier, sequentially or in combination — except in clients whose acne overlaps with rosacea, where blue can be a trigger and we skip it. Every modality decision is calibrated to the skin in front of us, not pulled from a template.
Massage as part of the protocol
Acne-affected skin is often treated harshly and rarely massaged. This is a missed opportunity. The Skin Clarity Ritual includes a slow facial, neck and shoulder massage — supporting lymphatic drainage and providing meaningful parasympathetic calming. Stress is one of the most under-recognised drivers of breakouts; addressing it physically is part of the clinical approach, not an indulgence.
Non-comedogenic finishing throughout
Many 'acne facials' finish with heavy occlusive moisturisers and chemical sunscreens that themselves contribute to breakouts. The Skin Clarity Ritual finishes with non-comedogenic products specifically chosen to support clearer skin rather than contribute to the problem.
More than a facial — the body's role in acne
Acne is rarely just a 'skin' issue. Hormones, stress, sleep quality, gut health, diet, and inflammation patterns all contribute. The Skin Clarity Ritual is part of a broader approach — our consult will discuss lifestyle factors where appropriate, and we'll refer to a GP for hormonal workup when indicated. The most successful acne outcomes come from clients who understand acne as a whole-body condition that the skin expresses.
Frequently asked questions
Implementation: marked up with FAQPage schema (see Section B). Each Q is an H3.
Will I purge after this treatment?
A 'purge' — a temporary increase in breakouts in the first 1–2 sessions as deeper congestion clears — is possible. It typically settles within 1–2 weeks and is followed by visible improvement. We'll discuss what to expect at consult and let you know if a purge is likely for your specific skin.
What does Oxygen Rx actually do?
Oxygen Rx is a clinical step that creates a controlled oxygen-rich environment on the surface of the skin. The combined effect is calming for visible inflammation and supportive of a clearer-looking skin environment. Most clients describe an immediately fresher finish after this step — it's one of the most enjoyable parts of the protocol and one of the most clinically impactful for active acne.
Is Radio Frequency safe? Will it hurt?
Yes — non-invasive RF used in the Skin Clarity Ritual is delivered through a TGA-listed cosmetic device at controlled, gentle settings. It is comfortable for nearly all clients — most describe a warming sensation that can feel deeply relaxing. The intensity is adjusted throughout the session to your tolerance, and the step is gentle enough to include as a regular part of the protocol rather than as a one-off advanced treatment. There is no downtime.
How is this different from a 'deep cleanse' facial at a regular spa?
A standard spa 'deep cleanse' is typically heavy on physical exfoliation, mechanical extraction, and stripping cleansers — an approach that often inflames acne further. The Skin Clarity Ritual is a clinical protocol using Circadia professional products, with gentle enzyme action, the Oxygen Rx clinical step, Radio Frequency support, controlled extractions only where appropriate, LED light therapy, and barrier-supportive finishing. The contrast in approach is the contrast in outcome.
Can I have this treatment if I'm on prescription acne medication?
In many cases yes, but we coordinate carefully. If you're currently on oral isotretinoin (or have been within the last 6 months), most active facial work is contraindicated and we'll discuss alternatives. If you're on prescription topicals, we'll plan around them. Bring details of your prescriptions to your consult.
Is this suitable for cystic acne or severe nodular acne?
Not directly. Severe cystic or nodular acne needs medical management — typically from a dermatologist or your GP. We can provide supportive care alongside the medical pathway, but we are not the primary treatment for severe presentations. Please raise this at your consult so we can guide you to the right care.
How long until I see results?
Most clients notice clearer-looking skin from the first session. Meaningful improvement in inflammation, congestion or post-acne marks typically develops across a course of 4–6 sessions. Acne is a chronic condition for most people who present with it — improvement is progressive across treatments and consistent homecare.
Can I have this during pregnancy or breastfeeding?
Yes, with modifications. Some active steps need to be adjusted or omitted during pregnancy and breastfeeding — Radio Frequency in particular is generally not recommended in pregnancy, and we'll modify the protocol around it. Please raise this at consult so we can plan the appropriate version of the protocol for you.
Do I need extractions at every visit?
No. Extractions are optional and we only perform them where appropriate and tolerated. Many sessions include no extractions at all. The bigger drivers of clarity are the enzyme, the Oxygen Rx, the mask, and the homecare prescription — not the extractions.
What homecare will you recommend?
That depends on your skin and your current routine. We'll prescribe a tailored Circadia homecare regimen at your consult — typically including a gentle cleanser, an active treatment serum, an acne-supporting moisturiser, and daily non-comedogenic SPF. We introduce active ingredients carefully and never overload the routine.
